To the heart of the village, where the festival was born, we moved, bringing our ideas and offices to the former Koopman “Kneipe”, our local, opening up the Haldern Pop Bar to translate our words into action.

The Lower Rhine’s geographical location has been a historically significant transit route for countless travellers along the Rhine since time immemorial. We see ourselves as upholders of this tradition, a communication line between pulsating urban life and the idyll of a timeless province. The combination and interdependence of both habitats is an endearing process to behold.

The bar is the final step towards reclaiming an authentic environment for pop music. We offer as payment our attentiveness, friendliness and applause. Fledging careers pick up energizing impulses as we match musical collages with coffee, cake and congeniality. In collaboration with Brauner Microphones, the Haldern Pop Festival and label, video artists SpringerParker and the Einfach, König & Du advertising agency, we extend an invitation to musicians to visit our bar on Haldern’s market square. Guests will appreciate the charming atmosphere the bar enjoys courtesy of the ”finicky” fifties era.

In short, the idea and the strategic advantages are well considered and are there for both sides. A day-off hotel which thrives on awareness of the people. Who would have thought that this geographical nowhere between Cologne, Amsterdam, Paris and Berlin could play host to so many wonderful artists? We did. Thus the circle is completed. Young, worthwhile art finds a helpoing hand as Haldern Pop remains true to its philosophy of finding novel and uncomplicated ways to experiment in the field of music.
